I have a macbook from early jan 07, my warranty is up march 21,2008.. do i have to bring in my macbook to the mac store? or could i just buy it?

i know the newer macbooks can support up to 4gbs? is it possible mines can support up to 4gbs or just 2gbs?

You just have to buy the APP package. In there will be a serial key. You can then just follow the instructions. Not sure if it's possible directly online, but I think it is. If you have to, carry your Macbook serial number and original bill with you to the store.

I think yours can go upto 3GB. Not sure though.

Talking about AppleCare, and memory.
i understand the applecare part, can someone give me more info on memory? for a late 2006 model macbook with superdrive

It's been the same. Don't buy Memory from apple though. They overcharge.

Just get: DDR2, 667Mhz, SODIMM (Laptop memory). Installing RAM into a macbook is really simple.

max should be 2gbs? or 3gbs? i want to max so i do more mixing, video etc

Approximately 3.2-3.4 (not sure of the exact number) is the most that your macbook can use. So if you put in 4 then only a little over 3 will be able to be used.
