Hi Everyone

Have 24" imac 2.4 ghz. Installed the ram (mushkin pc2 5300 sodimm) and then tried to start the computer. The first screen showed a message to reboot the computer. The second time I got the white/grey beginning screen no rotating wheel and it never went further

Any thoughts

Al

Is this RAM meeting the specs of your machine as you are having a kernel panic? Remove it and try to boot again. Don't give model details of your iMac in the post.

Either the RAM is not properly inserted into the slot or you are using the wrong RAM.

Remove the RAm you installed and then restart the system. If the system boot, either you inserted the RAM improperly or the RAM is bad.
