mini - Mac mini not reading copied CD's

My mac mini will not read copied CD's.

What's wrong with it?

Yeah sorry, I didn't explain that very well.

Whenever I put a blank CD into the mac mini and write to it says 'unexpected error' and ejects the CD. If I put in a burned CD from another machine it doesn't read any information on the CD. But the CD player does read original purchased discs such as music albums and software.

Sometimes reports received of problems with cheap CD's. Find Verbatim excellent and have no problems with CD's or DVD's. Try a different bran d first.

Other than that you may be looking at a failed optical drive.

What are the specs on the Mini? Trying to find out if it's an older G4 model or more recent Core Duo Intel Mini.
