Power Mac - G3 G4 speed

hey question if I had to computers all the same specs 512 ram 128 gb hard drive but one was a G3 at 500mhz and the other was a G4 at 400mhz which one would be faster..

They would be the same and there would be no discernable difference in "speed".
The only difference would be that the G4 has the Altivec Processor.

I was thinking the G4 would be a lot faster but that's not really the case

Yes but still faster, anyways I bought the G4 and its a different kind of fast... like yeah hard to explain.

a g4 mmd dual would be a lot faster than a g3 or single cpu g4

the g3 uses sdram pc100,,and the g4 uses pc 133,, a tad faster. i had a g3 450mhz ,and then bought a 2002 quicksilver 800mhz...noticeably faster. now my mdd dual 867 is quite a bit faster than the other two.
