I have a mini mac without a keyboard and I want to know whether it is possible to use a power book's keyboard via firewire or something. I have a seperate monitor and mouse so thety are not a problem....

Look up Teleport, it will let you share the keyboard over your network connection.

Currently running OS X 10.8.2

I have checked Teleport and it requires that you install the app on both machines, however the problem is the mini mac is brand new and I need the keyboard to go through the startup process i.e. inputting login details. So I don't think this approach will work as the mini already needs to be setup to install Teleport. Any other options?
