Hi all,
I've searched the forum and can't find any other mention of this issue so here goes... I recently upgraded my RAM to 2Gb on my Intel Mini. I also installed a new hard drive as the existing one had failed. I restarted and the install started fine (Disk 1 of OSX 10.4 was already in the superdrive). I formatted the new disk fine, and got to the end of Install Disk 1, when the mac restarted (as you'd expect). On restart Disk 1 was ejected from the superdrive. Now the problem. The superdrive seems to have died. My mac is asking for Disk 2, but when I try to insert it, there is absolutely no response from the superdrive. I'm guessing there's a problem with the power but that's pure speculation. I've removed the 2Gb and replaced the 512Mb that was originally there, to rule that out. I'm at my wits end - can anybody help? Thanks in advance. JP |
