iMac - How to connect speakers to G4

My son wishes to connect a pair of speakers (from a cd player), which have phono connector cables from them. Is it possible to buy adapters to allow them to connect to a G4 imac?

I have as as second Mac the iMac G4 and I did use Altec Lansing speakers. They connected with an RCA jack. You would have to find an adapter that would end in RCA.

Probably other members here could refer you to a website and a part number for this adapter.
