I have an HP laptop from work and would like to be able to use it with my iMAC 24" screen when I need to use it at home. I have software on the PC laptop that I can't transfer to the iMAC. Is there any way that I can do this??

Have done several searches for "PC", "monitor", "screen" etc - but have not had any luck finding a relevant thread :dummy:

Many thanks!!!

I think your basic question is whether you can use the iMac screen as an external display for your HP laptop. Unfortunately, the answer is "no".

My Macs: iMac 27" 3.4 GHz, Mac Pro 3.2 GHz, PowerMac G5 Quad 2.5 GHz, G4 Cube with 1.2 GHz Upgrade
My iStuff: 64GB iPhone 5, 64GB iPad4, 30GB iPod Video, 16GB iPod Touch
My OS': Mac OS X Lion, Mac OS X Snow Leopard, Mac OS X Tiger, Mac OS 9.2.2, openSUSE 10.3

Many people have asked this and no, you can't do this.

Here is just two of the relevant threads, that may provide you with some more information:

iMac display question

Search: Key Word(s): imac, external, display

I guess I am stuck with my 12" HP laptop screen for work. I have been spoiled by the 24" iMac - have only had it for 2 weeks but I'm hooked.
Cheers.
