Please weigh in with some ideas, guys!

My mom's G5 imac has a wireless keyboard & mouse, but she uses a USB mouse to save batteries.

All of a sudden, her keyboard will not interface with her imac, despite fresh batteries. When she powers up, the login window appears, but she cannot enter a PW.

She plugged in a USB keyboard, and it will not work either. She cannot even start up in safe mode using the USB keyboard. Sounds weird to me.

Any ideas?

Does a P-Ram reset work with the USB keyboard? Holding down APPLE, Option ,P + R when you turn on the imac? I assumed you tried other USB Ports on the back as well.
