Hello everyone! I just got a used imac 800 mhz g4, with 256 mgb of ram. is it worth the hassle to upgrade it to tiger? right now it has 10.2.8, if anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated.

Well 10.2 is outdated and unsupported a lot of the time, so you should consider an upgrade.

If you go for Tiger, get a RAM upgrade too (as much as you can afford, but at least 512MB of additional RAM). If a RAM upgrade is completely out of the question, consider Panther (10.3.x) because it's a big improvement on Jaguar but not as RAM hungry as Tiger.

Yep, 133 RAM is pretty cheap.

My old 733Mhz G4 did well in Tiger with 640megs.

Try Newegg or Crucial, both are a good resource for RAM upgrades.
