Mac Pro - Dock items don't open after sleep

I have a new Mac Pro. I copied my previous G4 powerbook via firewire to the Mac Pro so I am using all my laptop settings. Now, when my computer sleeps and wakens I cannot use items in the Dock and have to restart the computer to enable them. Is there a fix for this (aside from turning off sleep)?
:spook:
QUOTE Thanks
