    upgrading to usb 2.0?
    hey i have an imac g3 600 mhz processor, 760 mb ram and i just bought an external hard drive and a dvd rom drive. well, i'm officialy an idiot. I didnt check to see if i had usb 2.0, i just assumed. Well, i dont. is there a way to upgrade the usb ports to usb 2.0 in my g3? thanks!

    I think that link relates to the Powermac G3, unfortunately the iMac G3 cannot be upgraded afaik.

    But you should have Firewire on that machine, so maybe consider using that instead, if your peripherals support it.

    Thanks guys. i didnt think it was possible. I do have firewire ports, but im not quite sure if the hard drive supports them. I'll check that out. thanks again!

    one more quick qeustion, since these are both external, could i just buy a firewire enclosure for each and switch them? muchos gracias

    Yes, just get a cheep FireWire Case and swap the drive.

    Excellent! thank y ou very much! haha i was so mad at myself for getting usb 2.0, but now hopefully i can get the drives to work. Thank you all very much.
