iMac - Best site for Intel 20" iMac memory?

Hey all...

I was wondering whether anyone may have a good website for purchasing a 1GB stick of RAM for my Intel 20" iMac?

Has anyone seen good deals on these sticks lately?

I am staying far away from buying from apple.ca.

I am in Canada (Ottawa) if that matters.

I checked out the site but I am unsure what brand to buy....I know I need DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) but there are several types.

Any help is appreciated.

I used Patriot and it worked perfectly. I've also heard some people on here have had luck with G.Skill.

newegg has been getting bad for shipping prices and prices over all.

zipzoomfly offers free 3 day and an upgrade to 2 day for like $1.99 i beleive.

i would recommend OCZ / Corsair / Kingston

Does the memory have to be PC2-5300? or does PC2-5400 work as well in an iMac?

Same here i bought from NCIX, on monday at midnight, and it was at my door wednesday evening, from BC to Toronto, pretty sweet.

I don't know if anyones tried this to see if it's being honoured, but Omni technologies website is showing 2 x 1GB Hyperformance RAM for $179.95 at the moment! Considering that's their price for a single 1GB stick it must be a mis-print so I'd buy before it gets pulled!

g.skill works just fine for me. I added a 1 gig stick to match the gig it came with. 70$ on newegg.

Does anyone think there would be a noticeable performance difference with the Hyperformance RAM from Omni? It's CL2.5 as opposed to the CL4 / CL5 stuff from newegg / g.skill etc...

Can the iMac actually benefit from the faster timings or is that all myth?

New Egg is a great spot to shop. They usually have whatever you want and most times have the best prices. For example 667 ram for the Mac Pro 2 gigs of Kingston for only $350 as compaired to over $600 from Apple.

I have dealt with them for years and their service and warentees and shipping have always been first rate. Unfortunatly unless they have changed recently they do not ship outside the United States.
