Okay so it's late and I cant bring to memory what they're called. Anyway, when I save something, like an animated avatar, when I opened it up in Preview it used to have a bar at the side with all the different animations (never just automatically plays like in Windows) but not I dont even have that so when ever I save something like that the only thing I get is the first animation and nothing else.

Are you dragging it from a website onto your desktop or a folder, or are you right clicking and saving the image?

Right clicking and saving. But I get the same results either way.
