I just received my Mac Pro and started opening it up to see how it was put together. I wanted to know what parts Apple used. A Sony super drive and a Seagate SATA hard drive. I am adding pictures as I take them.

Someone just pointed out that the Mac Pro logic board has two SATA drive ports marked as ODD SATA. We think it is for an Optical Disc Drive SATA connection. Blu-ray perhaps?

I have seen SATA DVD-RW drives but with Apple using the PATA Sony Super Drive this looks like it might be for a better optical drive down the road.
