iMac - iMac g3 question

I purchased an iMac g3 350 mhz on ebay to mess around with (this is my first mac). It appears to have been previously owned by a school. It's using the Netware client, and I am unable to access any settings. It didn't come with any install disk, so I can't reinstall OS 9. Is there anything I can do to get past the netware stuff?

Thanks.

You are likely going to need the install disc to get around it. You can find retail versions of OS 9 on eBay for next to nothing. Personally, I would suggest getting a retail versino of OS X to put on that machine.

Try holding the C key after the chime. I did read that this one persons 350Mhz iMac would not boot even holding C and he had to hold down Option and select the CD from the menu. Try both right at the Chime and see which works.

Here is a URL with a lot about your machine.

Be SURE if you do upgrade the RAM that before you try to install OSX, read that URL carefully and update the Firmware.

Thanks for the link.

I'm going to try booting into linux and deleting everything related to netware, as it will not let me download the firmware update.

After wasting hours trying to burn CD's in Windows that would read on the Mac, I figured out that all I had to do was hold shift to bypass loading extensions.
