mini - My "new" Mini isn't a 1.42?

So I got a Mac Mini this weekend on Ebay.. Auction said it was a 1.42GHz.. The bottom of the Mini itself says it's a 1.42.. I boot it up and it says it's a 1.5.. So I email the guy and ***** him out for not telling me he had overclocked it and he says it's a "late model MacMini G4".. Said it came set to 1.5GHz, and also has more video ram.. Apple did this?

He did not overclock a thing. Apple did that toward the end of the G4 high end Minis and clocked them at 1.5Ghz and 64Megs Video RAM. You got an even better deal. I would be happy!!!

also.. most macs can safely be over clocked one or 2 steps higher with out any damage considering apple usually does that with out changing anything.

did you ask him a question to see if the auction was mis-represented or did you just rip him a new one????

and btw i am with dtravis, you actually have an apple produced mini at 1.5ghz..be very happy.

I simply asked him a question. I was quite polite about it. I did get a heck of a deal, got a fully loaded Mac Mini (80gb, 512ram, superdrive, bluetooth, airport extreme, wireless apple keyboard, and a bluetooth mouse) so toss in the fact that's it's got extra vid ram and a CPU with more overclocking potential.. Heck yeah I got a great deal.

Oh, and I picked it up local so I saved shipping and waiting..

I see 2GB sticks of ram for sale, will they work in this mini? (Hate to start a new thread for such a short question..)

Don't fret - my fiancé's sister got a Mac mini from Apple refurbished that said it's a 1.5GHz. I don't tell my fiancé it's faster
