I'm having this strange problem with AIM... Whenever I sign on to it, it works fine untill i want to check a profile, or edit my buddy list or do anything other than message somebody, where it will just shut down, and tells me..

"The application AIM uit unexpectedly.
Mac OS X and other applications are not effected"

I get it every time. But i think it only happens when i scroll on my mouse (mighty mouse) I'm using an 20'' Imac Intel Core Duo.

Does anybody know what is goin on? I'd appreciate anything.

I never figured out why, but AIM for mac is very unstable. I recommend using iChat, the mac version of AIM.

yes it is unstable however for most people it's all they've ever used or ever want to use. Usually probablems with AIM can be solved by reinstalling and hoping it works (seriously). Also iChat works great, but personally I reccomend Adium. It offers so much more personalization options and can be made to make your chat windows look exactly like aim.

Also I'm a 24/7 online chat person, and when my HDD went "sleep mode", I was able to stay on all my chat programs from what I saw.

I had never had any problems with AIM on PowerPC chips. But when I made the switch to Intel as did my brother, we both get problems with the program crashing
