Hi Everyone,
I reciently prurchased a friends G4 533 to be a tool to learn basic video production. I was informed after taking it to the Apple store that the optical drive is busted, and needed to be repaced, to the tune of $350. Is that price high? Is the pioneer dvr-A06 mentioned in a post below one of the better (or best) alternatives for cd, and dvd burning? What would you do in my situation? Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
John

FYI to those interested,
I installed a Pioneer dvr-a06, it worked just fine. I also added 512 of ram, and OSX.3 (has a crashing problem). So my entrance into the Mac world has been a little bumpy, we'll see how things develop when I hook up to the net.
