It's a bomb!
Just kidding. How old is the box? if it's not extremely new (year+ usually) the freeze up *may* be hard drive related. You can figure that out with a disk scanning program, monitoring where the freeze ups occur (randomly ? at the same instance?) and various other observations. The sound too, could be most likely: vid card fan, CPU fan, power supply fan (or the internals of a power supply), hard drive, media drive (CDrom, floppy etc) there isn't a ton of "sound" generating parts in a computer. I'm at work so if I remember to hear the sound when I get home, I may be able to give you a less generic resolution. |
