Well i am in process of planning the purchase of 20inch iMac soon so first thing to customize is memory ...
I do not want to pay extra to pple for memory so i am looking for memory 1GB from outside... Please let me know where should i look. eBay, Best Buy, Circuity City ?? How much did you guys paid for extra memory and where did you guys bought? Do it Yourself (DIY) say's it is easy to install so why pay apple price. Do you think i will be having issue with one 512MB RAM and other 1GB RAM ?? |

Apple recommends that you match the sticks of RAM to be the same amount of memory. For example, you should use two 1 gb chips for a total of 2gb, or two 512mb chips for a total of 1gb.
I'm not sure how much of an effect this does have though. I would think that you would be fine with adding another gig chip. I buy all my memory from www.datamem.com. They have a special apple hardware section where they tell you exactly what kind of memory to buy for your particular mac. |
