So I'm considering buying a 20" iMac. Just wondering if I'd be able to hook up my 12" PB and use the iMac as an external display? I know the iMac is dual monitor capable, but not sure if I'm able to use it as a standalone monitor for another machine.

You cannot use an All-in-one computer's display for an other computer. Neither an iMac (of any generation) nor any laptop (PC or Mac).

Yes... nothing has changed. You CANNOT and have NEVER been able to use an AIO computer of any kind as an external display for another system.
