Panther - SCSI Scanner Problems

Anyone had any success using an Epson Expression SCSI scanner with OS X Panther? I am on a Dual 1ghz G4 running 10.3 Panther. I just downloaded the most up to date drivers from Epson. No luck. The scanner works perfectly in Jaguar. I hate to think I have to upgrade all of my peripheal hardware every year just to get an OS update! I guess if I have to I'll just hook the scanner up to my Windoze machine where it works perfectly fine.
QUOTE Thanks
