mini - External hard drive issue

i upgraded the hard drive in my minimate and put in a new WD drive in. I installed the drive and then formatted it through the disk utility.

when i transfer files now to the drive it keeps asking me for authentication... how the heck do i get rid of it... it's buggin the heck out of me because each time it wants to write to the drive i need to authenticate and put in a password

That happens to me on one of the folder I have, I copyied it off a PC so I have the feeling that it has something to do with the write permissions, I don't know how the fix it just yet though.
