I inadvertently put a SD card into the CD drive of my iMac.
Any advice before I take it to a repair shop? (Apart from don't be so stupid in future!)

Have someone help you to lift the iMac on its side and use something like a stiff piece of cardboard to insert in the CD slot. Hold the cardboard so that it keeps the slot open and gently shake the iMac until the SD card falls out. Note: You can't attempt this by yourself since that may result in damaging the iMac if it falls.

You may also want to try using some double sided tape on a piece of heavy paper or thin cardboard and see if the SC card will stick and then pull it out.

Or even wrap some packing tape and fold back the last part to expose its sticky surface.

Be patient and don't get too rough!!
