Advice: Mac Pro Graphic Card Upgrade
I own a Mac Pro 3,1 it has a 256Meg Ati Card standard Card.

Does anyone have any recommendations on upgrades not those really stupid expensive cards just one around £100 (UK Pound)

It may or may not be important since you want to replace it anyway…but need more info than this to know exactly what you currently have (Ati standard card not enough info).

When shopping for parts for Mac Pro's…£100 is a VERY small budget. A good lower expense card would be a Radeon 5770. But this I'm pretty sure will be more than £100.

Thanks for the info.. The Radeon 5770 is a pretty good card. It's been around for a few years…so not as expensive as it once was. But I think that it still costs more than your budget.

Graphics cards for Apple computers (Mac Pro) are not nearly as common or inexpensive as they are for Windows desktops.

After the 5770, your next choice maybe to get a flashed ATI Radeon HD4870 with 1GB of memory. It should come with two cables for connection to the mother board:-

Hang on to those original install discs like grim death! Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer!
