Yes but also consider OWC. Whatever is the best price but only Crucial and OWC:-

Your imac like mine came with 2x2GB. Upgraded mine to 2x4GB in positions 3 and 4 to make 12GB and works smoothly.

Hang on to those original install discs like grim death! Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer!
