    Is there another app
For the internet, safari comes with the desktop but is there another one I can download so that I can have two open at the same time?

Yes, Chrome, Firefox, Opera to name just a few..

All of the recent enough incarnations of these browsers multiple tabs, but if you really want two windows, you can do that as well.

If you are looking for DIFFERENT browsers to test something, that's fine, but otherwise Safari is perfectly capable of having multiple tabs or windows..

Firefox has to be downloaded from their site through the link I provided..

Perhaps if you tell us what you are EXACTLY trying to do, we can provide a better response..

There are a number of reasons your favorite piece of software may be absent from the app store. Even some well-respected software developers choose not to use the app store to distribute their software. You can find a good discussion of the pros and cons of being in the app store here.
