If past "refreshes" on various apple products is a general indicator of what to expect, when will the current iMac 21 inch (or likely both iMacs at the same time) due for an update. My interest lies mostly on the processor - going to a new/faster one. Thxs.

Last iMac update was September, 2013. Historically 333 days between updates...it's been 177 days.

The 'Haswell' version was released last September. The previous version 'Ivy Bridge' lasted for three different models so who knows? Apple closely regards update information for security purposes.Hang on to those original install discs like grim death! Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer!
