Will Memorex DVD run on my iMac?
I'm using a 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo iMac with OS 10.8.2. I want to write to a DVD and recently purchased a package of five Memorex Secure DVDs identified as DVD-R / 16X / 4.6GB discs. I didn't notice until later that the back of the package says that "Memorex Secure optical media is preloaded with EncryptDisc Lite software" requiring Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7. I have two questions: (1) Does my iMac write to DVD-R 16X discs?
    (2) Does the presence of the Windows security software affect the functionality of the discs for my iMac? I would appreciate all comments and suggestions.

Yes it will write to DVD-R media, but will it write to Ecrypt Disk Lite may well be another question. Pop one in and try it ~ you may well be asked to format the disc. Personally only use Verbatim media.
Hang on to those original install discs like grim death! Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer!
