? simplest way to add an extra hard drive to i-Mac. (not back up drive). Can a time capsule serve that function? My hard disk is full and I erased non essential files.

The simplest way is to get an external hard drive. There are hundreds to choose from, though I would recommend one from Western Digital that specifically supports the Mac.

Please verify and include the exact model/year of your Mac and OS X version number (available from "About This Mac", then "More Info" on the Apple menu).
