Apple had an issue with the Seagate 1TB drives in the iMacs recently and replaced them free of cost. The program has just been extended to cover iMacs sold between October 2009 to July 2011.

Visit Apple - Support - iMac 1TB Seagate Hard Drive Replacement Program and enter your serial number and see if your iMac is eligible.

And if you have previously paid to have a 1TB hard drive replaced in one of the effected iMacs Apple have stated they will refund the cost.
