I have the same early 2005 2.7GHz G5, but with the original Apple Radeon 9650 fitted.

The 9800 Pro was never an Apple option for this G5, the options were Radeon 9650, 9600, X850XT and Nvidia 6800 Ultra DDL, but suppliers list it as being compatible. By 'new', is it new to the G5, or brand new never used. All cards for this G5 are are old now, and haven't been made for some time. The symptoms shown in the pictures indicate a faulty video card. Can you refit the original video card and check all is well with the G5?

Thanks to the interest

You are right, the card is refurbished, and i bought it here:
Video Card ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB DVI/VGA/S-Video for Power Mac G5 Single & Dual Processor - $94.95

The serial number of mi G5 is G85345SWRU4

You say the card is not compatible at all with mi G5????

Wich card has the best performance for this mac?? I need it to work with Photoshop. My original Ati 5200 work very slow with Photoshop CS4, and that's why i bought the 9800

Do you need to be on tiger?

I'd probably put a flashed 6800 ultra in it..

Mac Pro 4,1 (Flashed to 5,1) W3570 3.2 Quad..48GB RAM..Gainward GTX 570 "Phantom."
MacBook Pro 5,2..2.8Ghz C2D..8GB RAM..240GB Vertex +
QUOTE Thanks
