I don't want to buy one now and have it updated next month. Is it realistic that we'll be getting an updated iMac this year? Thanks for the help!!

Who knows?

Popular rumour from noted Apple author David Pogue tells us next year. Very pleased with my new iMac purchased June after WWDC said zilch about a new iMac.

Hang on to those original install discs like grim death! Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer!

Regardless of what the rumors might say, I think, and I emphasize... that the new Retina iMac will be released before 2013.
It's said that this is all a way to keep people buying, but please don't quote me on this
