Which cinema display do you have? We need the year and model number in order to get a read out on which cables it has and what the connectors look like.

    Specs:
    12" Apple PowerBook G4 (1.5GHz)
That display requires a DVI-D signal. With your computer, you'd need an HDMI to DVI adapter.

You can't convert VGA to DVI-D; VGA is analog only and DVI-D is digital only.

You don't need to worry about the USB and FireWire ports; they are just for convenience.

What you need is an active Digital to analog converter. Check
KVMSwitchTech as they offer DVI-D to VGA and VGA to DVI-D converter
solutions. They also offer HDMI to VGA solutions.
