Upgrading Imac to 16gb Ram

Hi All,

Im looking to upgrade my Imac to the maximum amount of RAM, which I think is 16gb. Anyone have any suggestions on what RAM I should buy?

any other tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

In my opinion it's not about what ram to buy...it's about just buying ram that works/is compatible. Ram is really pretty much a commodity.

Just go with either of these guys...and you'll be fine:

- Crucial.com
- OWC

- Nick

- Computer slow, too many "beachballs", read this: Beachballs

Mac Specs: iMac i5 2.7GHz OS X.9.4

If this is for a new 2011 onwards iMac it can handle up to 32GB if you think you need that much. My three week old iMac runs perfectly with 12GB, 4GB when new and 2 x 4GB modules from OWC for $55.00. Easy to fit just watch the video on their web site.


Upgrade Apple iMac Memory & more

Hang on to those original install discs like grim death! Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer!
