Would I be able to install this drive as my second in my 2008 mac pro. I believe there is two slots. Would any sata drive install? I would primarily use this in windows via boot camp...Is installing a second drive easy?

IDE is format prior to SATA.

No SATA drive will work unless you run a cable from the extra SATA port on the MOBO

Intricate but have a look at this first. Similar work around as if replacing original optical drive except setting up in position two:-

Hang on to those original install discs like grim death! Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer!
