Today I tried turning ON my 4 days new iMac to do my usual extremely important project work, it won't turn on and I cannot hear any sound. Last night I shut it down like every night, that's the last I used the iMac.

I checked the power cable by connecting with a PC, it works fine. Also I checked the power socket, it works fine too.

So my question is what is wrong and how do I fix the problem?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to Mac-Forums

Try holding down the power button for a few seconds then releasing, then press and release the power button to see if it does anything..
