Is there a way to determine the amount of hard drive used per app or software? I have only 11 GB available of 249.72 GB. I suspect I need to to delete more from iPhoto, currently at 16,ooo photos. I do have Time Capsule for external HD.

My apologies if this is not a hardware question. Wasn't sure as it involves hardware and software.

The size of each file can be seen in Finder. If that information is not available, right click on the column headers and click "Size".

To get a sense of where you space is going, take a look at this blog post for some info on how to determine what's going on.
