iMac won't power up

Came back from a 7 day vacation and my iMac (MA87LL) won't power up. Tried another outlet, etc. I am thinking that maybe it's just the internal battery. Would this cause the problem? There is no noise, no fan, nada . . . I believe I purchased it in 2008.
