I really could use some help figuring out why the Serial-ATA device tree has an extra "Intel 6 Series Chipset" but nothing appears connected. I am pretty sure I only have one HD and one optical drive - so can someone help me figure this out?

Yes second hard drive for say an SSD is vacant. You can get the iMac from Apple with the HDD and a 256GB SSD in slot 2.

Hang on to those original install discs like grim death! Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer!
