Last night, when hopelessly trying to start the G5, I noticed that there were two red LEDs illuminated on the inside. From what I've read, that's not very good. Both of them where behind the processors, so you can't see them from the side view, only through the front grille. This may be more serious than we thought.

I attempted to install OS X Leopard 10.5.1, but couldn't get it to work. I attempted to boot from disk, although, I'm not sure if you can boot from the retail version of Leopard. I guess you can, because no one said anything on here about not being able to. I'm pretty sure that something's up with the processors, because the lights that are glowing are directly behind each of the two processors. I've read that I can try to reseat them, but I'm sure that'd only be a temporary fix. I could buy new dual 2.5s, but I'm sure I'd pay more for them than I paid for the actual Power Mac G5 unit itself. I guess reseating is the next step, but after that I'm not sure what I'm going to do. I would like to get my money back from the ebay seller, since he did claim that the unit worked fine, but I did realize the risk of buying a used computer, as I'd already done so before. Plus I've already left him positive feedback since he was such a nice guy to deal with. He'd forgotten the power cord and had one delivered to my house within two days. I'll probably just sell it for parts, along with my iMac G5 so I can pay my credit cards down to go towards my next purchase (Mac Pro). This is the last time that I buy a used computer, or at least, like you said, one without a HDD. Aside from the G5 not working, I wasn't happy with the physical condition of the computer either. The thing looked as if it had been dropped from a helicopter. Not really, but it had quite a number of deep scratches on the case.

Anyway, I really appreciate everyone being so nice and willing to help. I'm glad that I chose these forums to get help from.

If reseating the CPUs does anything. or I decide to do anything different, I'll be sure to update.
