How come the fans are still inaudible at those temps? Should I be worried or not? I'm converting 1080i mkv to mp4 through handbrake so the CPU has been at 100% for quite a while now and there's still lots to convert.

PS: I am on a 2011 27" iMac with i5 3.1GHZ/12GB ram/6970 1GB

It will turn on when it needs to turn on..being in the 50-60's degC is perfectly fine..my iMac idles around 45 degC..you should be getting concerned if the fans don't kick in when the CPU temps start reaching the 90's..

Yupp...those temps look perfectly fine!

We get folks reporting 90°C+...so you're not even close!

Idling along (pretty much, just doing basic browsing) my CPU sensors about 7 degrees c hotter than that. Those temps are low for operating. I'd be worried if the fans were audible.
