first off let me say what a B-E-A UTIFUL machine!!!! I have the wireless keyboard and mouse from APPLE and I still can't get over the one wire install (Ac)
It's almost a piece of furniture in and of itself. VERY IMPRESSIVE.

To the questions...

1. Every time a see Mac in the store the task bar bubbles when you point to an application. Not sure that bubble is the right word.... Where ever you point the mouse, the bar distorts and the applications rise.
Mine doesn't do it... is there some way to make it happen, or do I have to install more applications?

2. ON the scroll bar, there are the applications.... well below some of them, there are little black arrows. For the life of me, I don't know what they are for or what they indicate.

3. The sleep funcion is very nice, but how long can we let it sleep? What I mean is... can we just leave it in that mode all the time? Or do we have to turn it off every couple of days?

4. Wireless keyboard and mouse - Have I assumed correctly that they turn off when not in use after a while? Do I have to turn them off each and every time I quit using them? Doesn't say anything in the manual.

Thanks for the help.

1. See attachment below. You need to turn magnification on.

2. It means the program is still running. Just clicking the (x) in the corner doesnt close the program, just the window

3. Im not entirely sure but i believe you can just let it sleep

4. I think most turn off after a while of inactivity however they seem to drain batteries pretty fast when they are on so i would recommend turning them off when you are done with them for a while

Magnification... got it.

So if the X doesn't turn the program off, what turns it off. Sorry, remember I'm a PC guy. "X" on XP closes the application. Must have missed it in the manual.

to close the program either ctrl + click (or right click if you have 2button mouse) on the icon in the dock and select quit, command + q while in the program (similar to alt F4 on the pc), or in the menu select quit

i recently switched as well and it took me a while to get used to the x not closing the program. but i must say, i have yet to regret the decision to switch though

You can Close individual windows using the red X control, but programs can stay open even if there are no windows left on the screen. Unless you Quit the program, it remains available in memory.

playing more last night and found that not every thing closes. On the Dock there is an icon with two faces. That does not close nor does the dash board close. Will not close when in the program and pressing control q. Maybe they have to be running all the time.

Closing programs is rather cumbersome compared to PC, but other things tend to make up for it. I really like how easy it was to get my wireless connection with the router going. Once I installed it on the PC (The router that is), the IMac was very easy to sink and get the internet. When I finally got my network established, two down loads for a total of 90mb's took about 3 - 5 minutes to download and install. VERY FAST....

Coming from MANY, MANY years of PC w/windows it's kind of difficult to navigate in the applications. File bar at the top of the screen is fairly easy to get around in, but the applications them selves are just plain wierd. The oddest thing to me so far is the amount of real estate on the screen. When I open up Word, it only takes up a third of the screen. VERY WEIRD! Guess It's something that I'll have to get used to.

Also, where do we find widgets on the net? Any good finds or do they all come from the same place?
