- Min. I've seen is around $110
- Med. I've seen $150-$200
- Max. hard to say. Sky's the limit if someone is not informed...they may pay way too much. But I would say anything from $250-$300+.

What is on the HD at the moment (other than the OS and apps that come with an OS install)?

By the way...since this is your first Mac...it's possible some of the apps. you have are part of the OS install.

If you have the Leopard OS X.5 install disc, boot from that holding down 'C' after the chime, go to Utilities > Disk Utility, click Erase and format Mac OS Extended (), back to installer and continue. When finished set up Network etc and update to OS X.5.8.

lways best to do a clean install when you get your hands on a new, or pre-used in this case, machine.

Hang on to those original install discs like grim death! Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer!

As long as you're well aware that the machine is very obsolete, can't run most modern software etc. you should be fine.

"Very obsolete" as in can only run PowerPC software that is increasingly hard to come by, maxes out at OS X 10.5 "Leopard" and is now officially unsupported by Apple as of the OS X 10.7 "Lion" release last summer.
