Space Bar Problem

hey whats up guys a friend recently passed me down his old macbook pro a1211 and the space bar is not really working i have to press it down hard and rite on the center in order for it function properly wanted to know what i had to fix or replace on the macbook for it can function properly thanks in advance guys
