I have a Sony camcorder (TRV38) and would like to get the footage into iMovie to edit and share with others. I have spent to much time trying to figure this out, any help would be appreciated. I have an iMac 27 running Lion 10.7.2

I have many wires, but only one that fits the small connection on the camcorder and the other end is a USB, but it appears my computer is not recoginizing this.

I would really love to be able to get my video's on my mac, but this is very frustrating, please help.

Thanks

When you plug in the USB, does the camera show up on the desktop - like a hard drive?
If you can drag and drop the video files to your computer, you have a chance to import in iMovie or convert to an iMovie format.
