Replacing HDD with SSD - 2011 iMac

How hard is it to replace the hard drive with an SSD? I don't plan on doing it right now, but I might in a couple years when they get cheaper.

You might want to do some research on changing out the hard drive in a 2011 iMac. The drives that are used in the late model iMac machines have proprietary firmware and connectors. They're designed that way for the special heat sensor on the drive which controls the HDD fan.

Other World Computing and the ifixit sites have some good information about the above. I mention all this because swapping out a hard drive in a newer iMac is not an easy one for one swap, be it another HDD or SSD.
