ok ive had my ,mac mini since march and since then i have been able to connect to the internet without any troubble until a few weeks ago when i booted upmy mac and safari and it said it couldnot connect to the server....i was all like wtf and getting mad for a week or two so i called comcast (who supplies my cable dsl) and they said it wasnt the internet it was my mac because i was online...so i called apple and i got no help from them because i had to pay them like 50 bucks just to get help and i wasnt ready to pay 50 bucks for such a minor inconvience (because i had a few other computers that had internet access) well since those calls i still cant connect to the internet with my mac and i really need to....but i just cant find the problem. under my network settings everything is configured and i was just using the same internet on another computer and it worked fine...so this brings up my main question...how can i connect to my server???

So you have the cable coming from the wall to the cable modem, then an ethernet cord going from the cable modem straight to your comp?

Who is your ISP?

With my cable ISP when you plug in a new device into the cable modem you have to register the MAC address with them.

Are you getting assigned an IP address when you start up?

Did you manual configure IP address or set it to Automatic using DHCP?
