Today, I began my usual routine of burning DVDs in Toast Titanium 11 when the application announced an error with the burn, froze, and I resorted to Force Quit.
Now, the SuperDrive will not respond to any command to eject. I've followed all of the possibilities at this link: Power Mac G5 and Mac Pro: How to open the CD/DVD tray Not sure what to do and really hurting for a fix. I'm going to shut down the computer and revisit the problem in 15 minutes. Update: Disc ejected when I turned the computer on. Last edited by sidneylingle; 12-27-2011 at 07:20 PM. Reason: Problem Solved |

G'day and welcome to the forums.
Okay you got the disc ejected. Does the superdrive now work? What does Apple System profiler (About this Mac) Disc Burning have to say about your superdrive? Does it in fact appear? What media are you using ~ quality discs such as Verbatim or cheapies from supermarkets? Hang on to those original install discs like grim death! Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer! |
